In this video we learned about buoyance, and how fish control their fish bladder. One of the topics we learned about was water displacement, to displace water is just to place away and or push out of the way. In the video Bill Nye made a clay boat and placed it on water, then he made a clay ball and placed it on the water. The clay boat floated and the clay ball sank due to the surface area and weight.
NO MATTER WHAT ANY OBJECT WILL DISPLACE AS MUCH WATER AS THEY WEIGH.
The person who discovered all of this was Archimedes, Archimedes was a Greek scientist who discovered buoyancy.
Fish are the ones most adapted to buoyancy because they have a body part name the swim bladder. The swim bladder helps the fish control how much oxygen they hold so they sink or float.
The last Three Things everyone needs to know abut buoyancy is there are three stages, the first is positive buoyancy which means you float, the second is Neutral buoyance which means you don't float nor sink, you are neutral, the last stage is negativly buoyant which means
